Congratulations to KfW for successfully issuing the second digital bond in the form of a crypto security under the German Electronic Securities Act (#eWpG) on Cashlink´s infrastructure and for automating the #DvP process using the #Triggersolution of Bundesbank. This transaction was part of the Europäische Zentralbank’s exploratory phase to settle securities and central bank money using Distributed-Ledger-Technology and Smart Contracts 🎉 🙌 We are very proud to act as crypto securities registrar and DLT-Market-Operator for this transaction alongside other project stakeholders such as DZ BANK AG acting as bookrunner, Union Investment and DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale as investors and Boerse Stuttgart Digital as crypto custodian. 🙌 Thanks to everyone involved for making this transaction a success 🚀

📣 Germany’s KfW 🇩🇪 successfully tests digital bond with DLT-based processing of payment and asset flows We have successfully issued our first-ever digital bond in the form of a crypto security under the German Electronic Securities Act with 𝗗𝗟𝗧-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆. This pilot transaction was part of the Europäische Zentralbank’s exploratory phase to test DLT-based financial transactions, ending in November 2024. For the cash settlement of the €50m KfW bond, we used the #TriggerSolution of Deutsche Bundesbank. The top-rated bearer bond has a 3-months maturity, thus ensuring that the entire lifecycle of the security is mapped using the Trigger Solution. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 🌟 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: settlement was processed as Delivery-vs-Payment (DvP) using Deutsche Bundesbank’s Trigger Solution 🌟 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: DLT and smart contracts accelerate settlement, reduce risks, and enhance efficiency 🌟 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: this advancement is crucial for KfW as a leading bond issuer in int'l #DebtCapitalMarkets For this landmark transaction, Cashlink provided the #blockchain infrastructure and acted as the crypto securities registrar, while Boerse Stuttgart Digital provided crypto custody services. DZ BANK AG acted as the sole bookrunner and collective registered holder of the bond, with DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale, DZ BANK and Union Investment as investors.
