Inginuity in the U.S. Dredging industry was on full display during FSK debris and wreckage removal. The Baltimore shipping channel will be fully open 700’ wide; 50’ deep shortly as the last truss was removed from the channel yesterday, June 5, 2024 by salvage and dredge company Donjon Marine Co., Inc. “Working to expeditiously and safely there were many moments of pure entrepreneurial innovation captured on video by the US Army Corps of Engineers ,” said William Doyle, CEO of the Dredging Contractors of America. See the time lapse video below where Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Company, LLC’s Dale Pyatt, the clam shell bucket dredge, removing wreckage from the FSK channel. Notice what appears to be a huge fishing weight being dropped in front and beside the clam bucket during its lifts. That’s what’s known as “The Pulverizer.” The Pulverizer is a makeshift Lima 2400 crawler crane, spud barge (The Cape May) and mechanical weight device engineered and operated by Sterling Equipment Inc. The Pulverizer worked in tandem with the Dale Pyatt cracking and breaking the submerged FSK road deck so that it could be excavated! America 🇺🇸. https://lnkd.in/du_a-V-x
