Sometimes the best stories unfold when you step away from the screen and dive into the real world. I was reflecting on my career path and how a camera changed everything. It made me step away from the screen and go out into the world to capture real things. Now what fuels my passion is the excitement around who I will film next and where the camera will take me. Was there anything that changed your career path?

The National Dog Show is the most viewed dog show in America and it is filmed right here in Montgomery County! Rachel Riley (Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board) shares with me how her and the VFTCB team have been creative with promotions around this event. It's no secret that people share a special bond with their pets and The National Dog Show is a great reason to highlight this. Rachel and the team at Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board created a campaign called Embark Montco to do just that. They were able to get creative filming some of the Insta-famous dog show dogs and highlighting the pet friendly parks, hotels, and restaurants in Montgomery County. This campaign really resonated with people and had great social engagement because it touched on something so near and dear to people's hearts. “The arts are things we will continue to evolve because we paid attention to what worked for the businesses and also what consumers were responding to.” - Rachel Riley (Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board) on evolving annual events. VFTCB has a lot of events on an annual basis. Instead of just doing things the same way, they’ve been making adjustments and expanding their events each year. Just like with good marketing, we adjust our campaigns and expand upon what is working. Knowing how important it was to promote the restaurants in Montgomery County after Covid, VFTCB started Crave Montco Month. They came out with four weeks of deals and discounts. The next year was a focus on menu items and helping the chefs tell their stories. This year they expanded it to be all Summer long. You can’t go wrong when providing more value for your customers and helping local businesses at the same time. How do you continue to evolve your marketing?
