Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides short-term, inpatient psychiatric services for children. Cedar Ridge can help those individuals that represent a danger to themselves, a danger to others or are in imminent danger of becoming a threat to the safety of themselves or others. Inpatient treatment provides a structured and supportive treatment environment that promotes self-acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. A multidisciplinary treatment team guides treatment makes recommendations for interventions during treatment and appropriate aftercare treatment upon discharge. Our primary goal is to provide crisis intervention and stabilization services in a secure setting, ultimately aiming for a transition to a lesser level of care and return to full functioning in the shortest time possible.

Thanks to our amazing Expressive Therapy team for an awesome Back-to-School Bash for our residential program. The waterslides and dunk tank were a hit. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, our Service Excellence facilitator brought out ice cream! It's a great start to what will undoubtedly be an amazing school year.

A group of our amazing staff took on the challenge of starting a garden with our RTC patients. The results have been awesome! Our patients have embraced taking care of the garden and are proud of what they have accomplished. We had a powerful visit this week at Cedar Ridge with Jim Jackson, Chief Clinical Integration Officer of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and Jessica Wisdom, Chief Clinical Integration Officer of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Both of our teams got together and were able to discuss how Cedar Ridge can continue to meet the mental health needs of Oklahoma youth. It truly was an insightful meeting and visit!
