As Week 8 comes to a close, excitement is building among our founders as they gear up for the Fall 2024 Demo Day! 🎉 Thanks to the steadfast support and guidance from the Westchester County Office of Economic Development, the Element 46 Tech Accelerator (Fall 2024 cohort), powered by QUAY Acceleration, continues to make great progress together as one united team of founders. This week’s sessions provided invaluable tools and insights: 1️⃣ Financial Foundations by Daniel Taylor and Rodrigo D'Andrea, CEO and Head of Partnership at Bags 💰 : Diving into the evolving venture landscape, they guided our founders through the essentials of financial management — from key financial documents and financial modeling to cost structures, tax considerations, and common pitfalls to avoid. 2️⃣ Pitch Practice 1 📢 : Our founders took the stage for their first round of Pitch Practice, presenting 4-minute pitches to one another. This session helped them refine their presentations and strengthen their messaging as they prepare for Demo Day, happening on November 21st! Stay tuned! ⭐ 3️⃣ Angel Investing with Sandy Wollman, Managing Director at Westchester Angels 📈 : Sandy shared the fundamentals of angel investing, highlighting what investors are looking for and the importance of leaving a lasting impression. He offered valuable tips, such as keeping it simple, embracing a "less is more" approach, telling a compelling story, and maintaining coherence. Plus, our founders can look forward to a follow-up as Sandy will be conducting Office Hours with them next week! 4️⃣ Office Hours with Limor M., Managing Partner at Noop Innovations 🕰 : Limor provided founders with dedicated time to discuss their ventures, challenges, and specific needs, offering tailored advice, resources, and introductions. After a productive week for founders to reflect and work on their pitch and deck presentations, The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Retail Storefront Accelerator, powered by cela, is back in full swing! We are so proud of the progress our founders are making as they prepare for our upcoming demo day, ready to launch their retail storefronts across #Manhattan! 1️⃣ Pitch Practice 1: This week, our founders engaged in their very first Pitch Practice where they were given the opportunity to pitch in front of one another, allowing them to refine their presentations as they prepare for their Demo Day on January 22nd! 2️⃣ In-Person 1 on 1s: Our founders were also given the opportunity to have an in-person consultation with our co-founder, John L., as they opened up about the progress they’ve made so far as well as challenges they are facing. Many founders came prepared with questions and walked away with a clear sense of direction. Excited to see what’s next for them!
