What would you miss most if you had to go a day without water? In honor of the 10th Annual Imagine a Day Without Water, we asked some of our community members this very question. From that morning cup of coffee to the flowing rivers that define our landscape, water is essential to our everyday lives. Without it, everything—from our small daily habits to our economy and ecosystems—would come to a standstill. We'd love to hear more of your answers! It’s time to give your irrigation system a fall break and prep your lawn for its cozy winter nap because outdoor water budgets end in 4 days on October 15. ✅ Turn off your irrigation system before October 15 to avoid overspending your water budget. ✅ Do a quick inspection of your sprinklers and outdoor faucets for any leaks or damage that might have gone unnoticed. ✅ Avoid frozen pipes by draining your system or scheduling a blowout service. #waterbudget #watersupply #fallfriday #waterconservation #highlandsranch

As the days grow shorter and cooler, it’s time to help your lawn enter dormancy—a natural process where it slows down growth and conserves energy for the new season. Not sure where to start? Check out our latest article by Paige McFarland, our Water Efficiency Coordinator, explaining why letting your lawn enter dormancy is crucial for a healthy, vibrant spring return—and how you can help it rest right: https://lnkd.in/gnvcKZi5 #lawncare #homeownertips #watersupply #waterconservation #highlandsranch

Before Source Water Protection Week wraps up, let’s remember this – when we protect our water sources, we’re protecting something we all share: our health, our homes, and our future. But where does it come from? At Centennial Water, we use 85% of surface water annually from the South Platte River and groundwater as a back-up source. This method, known as a conjunctive use system, keeps our community’s water flowing year-round. It’s like having a reliable friend – the river provides most of our water, and the deep groundwater is there when we need a little extra support. When we protect these sources, we’re taking care of our own backyard. #sourcewaterprotectionweek #sourcewaterprotection #watersupply #protectthesource #highlandsranch

As of today, our service area has entered severe drought conditions. It is more important than ever that we all take proactive steps to protect our water supply. Here’s how you can help: 1️⃣ Turn off irrigation systems – With cooler temperatures and shorter days, lawns and gardens need less water. 2️⃣ Check for leaks – Indoors and out. A leaky faucet or irrigation line can waste thousands of gallons of water. 3️⃣ Use water-efficient appliances – If you haven’t yet, make the switch to low-flow showerheads, faucets, and toilets to save water daily. #drought #watersupply #sourcewaterprotectionweek #protectthesource #highlandsranch
