⭐ JUST PUBLISHED⭐ Project 5083 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gHGU7zj9 Nutrient management is crucial for addressing water quality issues, especially in watersheds facing rapid urbanization and population growth. Conventional biological nutrient removal (BNR) technologies are generally effective at meeting water quality goals, but they are energy-intensive and costly. This project explored and developed the application of low dissolved oxygen (DO) BNR in existing activated sludge as an alternative treatment method. 🧑🔬 Principal Investigators: Jose Jimenez, Brown and Caldwell Belinda Sturm, The University of Kansas Peter Dold, EnviroSim Associates Ltd. It's my pleasure to provide the Water Utility Climate Alliance (WUCA) with leadership and management support, so I'm excited to share their 2024 Annual Report. With the help of organizations like US Water Alliance, Aspen Global Change Institute, The Water Research Foundation (WRF), Pathways Climate Institute, EPA's Creating Resilient Water Utilities Initiative, and more, WUCA was able to develop informative resources and trainings on climate adaptation best practices for water leaders. WUCA shares these resources with the water sector and climate adaptation professionals, so check out their website for more information on specific projects.
Water utilities are key players in their communities when it comes to #climateadaptation. WUCA spent the last year advancing leading practices in climate change adaptation and mitigation with a focus on guidance that is actionable, equitable, and transferable. Take a look at the WUCA 2024 Annual Report ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eZnnbUzP to learn more about how our alliance of water utility leaders is addressing a host of various climate change-related issues. The report contains information about topics such as incorporating equity considerations into climate change adaptation, leveraging the latest global climate projections for water resource planning, and more. All WUCA publications are free and available to water utility practitioners on our website.
