I'm so grateful to UCSF for picking up and reminding us all that colorectal cancer screening saves lives -- and that organized programs like FluFIT, which leverages the time of annual flu shots as an opportunity to offer colorectal cancer screening, have helped hundreds of thousands of people to get screened and treated at a time when prevention and cure are possible. As a result of more widespread screening, mortality from colorectal cancer in the USA has been nearly cut in half over the past 30 years. It's been a major public health success story. And yet, there is more work to be done, especially as colorectal cancer is beginning to show up with more frequency among people in their 40's, and as access to colorectal cancer screening and treatment in many countries remains limited or non-existent.

Let’s keep this momentum going! 🚀

As we close out the month, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible learning experiences I’ve had. Attending events like the Quality Improvement (QI) Summit, the Population Health Management (PHM) Regional Learning Seminar, the Safety Net Innovation Summit, and many other Roundtables has been truly inspiring. These gatherings not only provided a space to connect with amazing colleagues and leaders in our field, but also fostered a sense of camaraderie that made the community experience even more enjoyable. ☺️ One of my biggest takeaways is the exciting potential of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare driving #HealthEquity I would like to give a huge shoutout to Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County, Center for Care Innovations, and Institute for High Quality Care (IHQC) for the collaboration and organizing events yielding impact and growth in healthcare leaders. 🙌🏽 A special thanks to Kaiser Permanente for sponsoring my participation at the Safety Net Innovation Summit. 🙏🏽 #SNIS2024 #SafetyNet #CommunityHealth #QualityImprovement #AI #PublicHealth #HealthCareLeaders #CHWorkforce #HealthEducation
