About us
Center for Elders’ Independence PACE offers comprehensive community-based medical and social care all in one bundle. We serve East Bay seniors who are over 55 years of age and who who need nursing home care - but we keep them living at home! CEI personal care teams coordinate and integrate whatever care a senior participant needs - home care, activities, transportation or medical care - everything from a hospital stay to an Oakland A's Game with other participants. Though CEI does not provide housing, we coordinate with senior housing, residential care facilities, hospitals and the family caregivers through any circumstances. Services offered: • Primary Care/Nursing Care • Hospital Services • Emergency Services • Nutrition and Hot Meals • Social Services • Home Health Care • Recreational & Social Activities • PACE Day Center • Medications • Transportation • Medical Specialists (cardiologists, podiatrists, etc.) • Rehabilitation Therapies • Dental Care PACE is associated with lower nursing home visits and admissions, fewer hospitalizations, a higher probability of receiving ambulatory care, greater survival, and increased number of days in the community, better health, better quality of life and better functional status. Huge shoutouts to the community leaders, government officials, influencers, sponsors and CEI team members who came out to support the 2nd Annual Tri-Valley Texas Hold'em Tournament over the weekend. With your support, CEI Foundation successfully raised funds to help furnish and equip the Center for Elders’ Independence two new centers. This will directly contribute to promoting health equity for seniors and ensuring they remain active, healthy and empowered in their communities, while living independently at home. [In photos] Special mention goes out to: CEO and President Maria E. Zamora, MBA, Contra Costa County Supervisor Ken Carlson, Councilwoman Marisol R. Rubio and Falck for sponsoring the sweet giveaways for the evening. The Tri-Valley Texas Hold'em was also sponsored by Skyline Construction, Raymond Fox & Associates and Falck. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this fun initiative and how we can continue making a difference together. Autumn has arrived! This past weekend, our Enrollment Development Representative, Shobna Krishna , attended the Autumn Community Health Fair, organized by the Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB). Marking the beginning of the fall season, the event offered complimentary screenings and health information, with CEI promoting local awareness and enhancing access to the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) for seniors and community members. A big thank you to VACCEB for hosting us and for spreading the word about the importance of health and wellness this fall! In photo Shobna Krishna and Quyen Hong (Language Interpreter) .

#NationalCentenarianDay was celebrated last Sept 22, and we had the privilege of speaking to Connie Myers, who is 100 years old! Her story of working as a real life "Rosie Riveter" - part of the league of women who joined the workforce through WW2 is truly inspiring. We are honored to have her as a participant at the Berkeley center. #Lifeat100 #CentenarianCelebration #InspiringStories #NeverTooOld #CEICommunity
