Thank you to the Murdock Trust for being part of our FAMILIA & uplifting our work in serving our comunidad day in, day out! 🫶🏽
At the Murdock Trust, we take a relational approach that seeks to build connection by putting people first and considering needs through a #community mindset. We are proud to spotlight an Oregon-based #nonprofit who embodies this relational approach, Centro Cultural de Washington County. Founded by migrant families wanting to make Washington County their permanent home, they continue to mobilize change and build prosperity while ensuring Latinos have the opportunity to not just survive, but thrive. Thank you, Centro Cultural, for your investment in community and for enriching our region with diversity and culture!

Oregon Community Foundation was honored today to host a roundtable discussion with Project Turnkey community partners as they provided input to Oregon Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (center). She is sponsoring a bill to take this Oregon-grown innovation nationwide. On the right is Maria Caballero Rubio (Maria C.), Executive Director of Centro Cultural de Washington County, which operates one of 32 locally owned Project Turnkey sites across Oregon. On the left is Megan Loeb, OCF Senior Project Manager for Economic Vitality and Housing. Project Turnkey was a smart and effective initiative to use funding from the State of Oregon to upgrade underused buildings like old hotels. The result was a 30% jump in temporary shelter space.

Thank you to the Wells Fargo team for joining us at the return of our Financial Opportunity Fair! We look forward to working together to bring resources to our comunidad. 🎉
I loved spending Saturday with Team Wells Fargo at the Centro Cultural de Washington County’s Financial Opportunities Fair! This outstanding annual gathering is designed to provide access to bilingual and culturally specific financial literacy resources through community collaboration. This year’s theme was Your Money, Your Future! To start off my many expressions of gratitude, thank you to Juan Carlos González and Jonath Colon for inviting Well’s Fargo to participate. Thank you to Wilfredo Saravia and Lucienda Rogers for representing Wells Fargo Mortgage and sharing your knowledge with the attendees. Big thank you to David Vitela and Luz for teaching a #handsonbanking class about budgeting and credit in English and Spanish. (And David for translating my introduction remarks!) Finally, thanks to Katarzyna Auler, Christian Crawford, Erin Williams, and Nathalia Case for tabling all day and making banking resources more accessible in our community. This was a group effort and I’m so grateful for this team and their time and dedication!
