In 1985, Auxiliarist aviators visited Naval Air Station Miramar for training. During that training, they got to experience the ""dunk tank"", which simulates aircraft crashes in the water. This training is used to ensure flight crews know how to handle these situations, and Auxiliarists who have earned aviation positions underwent the same high standards of training and evolving education as their active and reserve counterparts. #USCG #CoastGuard #USCGAux #AuxA #GoCoastguard #semperparatus

Have you packed enough water? Staying hydrated while boating is just as important as having emergency gear. You can become dehydrated much quicker than on land due to the sun reflecting off the water. The Commandant recognized many high performing Auxiliarists throughout the night, including Auxiliarist Natalie Bunting who was meritoriously advanced and named Auxiliarist of the year! ADM Fagan also recognized the outstanding leadership of current National Commodore Agostino Formato and welcomed incoming Commodore and Legion of Merit recipient Mary Kirkwood.
