The Chamber of Mothers is a collective movement to advance maternal rights in America.

About us

The Chamber of Mothers is a coalition of motherhood community leaders and individuals united in advocating for mothers' rights, modeled after the Chamber of Commerce, the largest lobbying block in the United States. Our first goal is to win paid leave, and we have been working in concert with existing lobby and advocacy groups toward that end. Donate: www.give.cornerstone.cc/chamberofmothers

🗳️ Big news from Allyson Felix and Chamber of Mothers! This election, they’re making it easier for moms and parents to get to the polls by offering free childcare at select locations nationwide and providing a comprehensive voter guide focused on issues that matter to parents. From education to healthcare, this guide is designed to inform moms and caregivers so that they can vote with confidence on the policies impacting their families’ futures. It's time to change the equation and close the care gap. The Female Quotient drives collective action to advance women in the workplace, and we know that closing the care gap is a vital step toward achieving true equality for all. Your #vote is your voice, and with this incredible initiative, more parents can make theirs heard. Let’s #VOTELIKEAMOTHER and ensure every parent has the chance to participate. This election, no one should have to choose between being a parent and voting. With your support, this bipartisan initiative will be available in all 50 states by 2028. 🗳️ This upcoming Election, Allyson Felix is excited to announce that she is partnering with Chamber of Mothers to remove childcare as a barrier for all moms heading to the polls! We have created a Vote Like a Mother tool to help you get informed, get helpful resources, and feel confident to vote. You can research your ballot and find all your candidates and stances in one place. Our tool also provides you important information on accessing childcare so you can vote early or on Election Day. One of the critical barriers holding mothers back from voting in this election is: CHILDCARE. This is especially true for Black moms in historically under-resourced communities, so we want to help ALL moms - get out to vote, either for early voting or on Election Day, November 5, 2024. If you live in these cities, here’s how you can get FREE childcare support to vote: North Carolina: While moms and caregivers go to the polls and vote, Politisit will reimburse up two hours of childcare. Western North Carolina: Having been devastated by Hurricane Helene, Politisit will reimburse up to a full day’s worth of childcare to vote. Los Angeles: Moms can access childcare vouchers for early voting and Election Day voting with childcare providers Brella. New York City & Westchester: Vivvi will offer up to a full day of childcare to research your ballot and vote. Go to our voter education too, sign up for these free childcare offerings, or access other information around childcare and voting - https://lnkd.in/g3kmWJ-m

🚀 Excited to share that we launched the #KansasCity chapter of Chamber of Mothers last month! I’m honored to be a co-facilitator of our local chapter alongside the amazing Lisa Gray and Rebekah D'Ambrisi. Chamber of Mothers is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) uniting mothers as advocates to create a better America with a focus on three core pillars: ✨ #PaidFamilyLeave - The United States is the only industrialized nation with no federally mandated paid leave for new parents. 25 percent of new mothers are back at work just two weeks after giving birth. As a new mom who was afforded meaningful parental leave by my employer, I feel deeply that every parent deserves time to bond and care for their new baby without financial stress. ✨ #AffordableChildcare - A 2023 study by Ready Nation finds that the nation’s infant-toddler child care crisis now costs $122 billion in lost earnings, productivity, and revenue every year. This staggering economic toll impacts working parents, their employers, and the nation’s taxpayers. My personal experience searching for child care in order to return to a job that I love is what led to my involvement with the Chamber of Mothers. We need bipartisan solutions to provide safe, accessible, high-quality, well-compensated childcare for every child. ✨ #MaternalHealth - The United States has the worst rate of maternal mortality across developed nations. We need public and private sector solutions that reduce maternal mortality and bias in care. As we continue through election season, I'm proud to support the #VoteLikeAMother campaign—raising awareness on why voting for policies that support families and maternal rights is crucial. Huge thank you to the founding mothers who are leading us at the national level, especially Raena Boston (a former colleague and incredible advocate). And thank you to annie bacon for keeping us all organized as we launch chapters and unite mothers and advocates across the country. To my friends and colleagues around the country, if you're interested in getting involved, visit https://lnkd.in/gdpbJiyf to find or start your local chapter! Even though October seems like a never-ending carousel of Halloween parties and events for parents (and we're TIRED), the Southeast Michigan Chapter of Chamber of Mothers is pushing through and hosting our 2nd chapter meeting this Wednesday, 10/23 at 8:00 PM ET on Zoom. Register Here ➡️: https://lnkd.in/eu6cmK2Z The Chamber of Mothers is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3), dedicated to uniting mothers to advocate on the local and national level for paid family leave, affordable childcare, and maternal health. Each of these topics is too critical to wait until the sugar high from your third trunk or treat of the season has worn off - so, if you're a Mom in Southeast Michigan, please join us! If you know a Mom in the area, please tag them in the comments so they can be in the know...and then tell me what candy you've been stealing from your kids' candy buckets this week... 🍭 🍬 #ParentsPushHarder #chamberofmothers #paidleave #maternalhealth #childcare
