I speak to a ton of medical device leaders and engineers about Chamfr and, at times, I get the question - "what is Chamfr?" So, if you're one of those curious people, here's the answer - Chamfr is an online marketplace with thousands of medical components from around 100 suppliers (and growing) around the world. And bonus - you can get these items fast! That's the surface level answer. Chamfr really is an engineering enabler. A resource to help designing/engineering medical devices more efficiently and with less stress. Let's be honest, engineers love to tinker and prototype, but we're always hindered by budget and timeline. How many times has your first design been the design that went to design freeze? I wouldn't call myself the best engineer in the world so I always had to iterate (many times). Fail often, fail fast was my motto. We just added more 17-7 stainless steel tubing on Chamfr in various IDs & ODs. Our tubing is centerless ground and swiss-machine ready. 17-7 is an excellent alternative to commonly used 304 tubing. It can be heat treated in its raw material or component state to achieve a significantly higher tensile than 304 SS tubing.
