We are pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Mueller as the new Mechanical Foreman for our Maine office. He hit the ground running last week, as you can see from these photos, where he, Jimmy Grandchamp, & Ethan Hoyt replaced three Flomatic Valves in a running facility while maintaining full functionality. Welcome to the team Joe!

When pulling a sewer pump, you must shut off the incoming water with a gate valve, otherwise you will unleash Old Faithful and ruin your day. But, as Jamie Flinchbaugh discovered in this video, sometimes you find yourself doubting the integrity of a particular valve after you close it, making the job an exercise in courage. (Fortunately the valve did hold long enough for the pump to be pulled, cleared, and reseated) #water #wastewater

So David Crawford had a great time at #WEFTEC24, happy to see and talk to all of our great vendors who gathered in New Orleans, like PRIMEX Controls and HOMA Pump Technology. He also brought back all these cool brochures for exciting new products to look into for possible job applications! We particularly liked how Aquosis Fluid Solutions had both a full size brochure and a deployable mini-brochure, and the stealth-combo-USB lanyard from EMEC. Great stuff all around. #water #wastewater

Here at Champlin we often put up goofy photos, or stories of our latest sewer adventures, but not today. With it being October 1st, the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to honor the women in our company and in our families that have won the breast cancer battle. It is right this month to recognize the efforts of medical personnel caring for patients, scientists working on cures, and even the drug companies and the life-giving medicine they provide, but they are not the focus of this post. Instead allow us to express our admiration and thankfulness for our women. These ladies that fought with grace and strength, that did not quit when it was hard, that wrestled with cancer and all its nasty impacts and have survived. Two of our current team members, Michelle Thibault and my wife Karen Crawford, are breast cancer survivors. Three of our other employees, Chip Crawford, Wes Brown, and John Pastor all watched their mothers confront breast cancer diagnoses with a faith that carried them through. We as a team have been touched by this disease and we are very thankful for our survivors. We cherish these women, and we are thankful for their perseverance. We remember their struggle and are grateful to be able to honor them this month. Sincerely, David Crawford

As if his "Top Bananan" certificate wasn't enough, yesterday Wes Brown received this laser engraved YETI ice bucket from Cornell Pump Company, LLC which is so awesome we have nothing else to say other than thank you. And well done Wes.

How do you know you've had a great trade show, like we did last week at the Granite State Rural Water Association Operator Field Day & at the Maine Water Environment Association Convention? When you get home and the only pictures you have are of your booth because you were wonderfully engaged the whole time. So instead of pictures of our people, please enjoy these pictures of our respective booths, highlighting the many products we provide from PRIMEX Controls, HOMA Pump Technology, Mission Communications LLC, Danfoss Drives, & VEGA Americas, Inc. Big thanks to those who make these shows happen, can't wait for next year. #water #wastewater

See that big white box? That's a PRIMEX Controls Arc Armor Solution, the first one installed in the State of Vermont (with a Darren Carner for scale). As part of a system designed by our very own Frank J. Ammirato Jr., it reduces the risk of arc flash and electric shock by splitting up the various voltage classes into separate compartments. This panel is filled with all of the excellent components we usually provide, like Danfoss Drives and a Mission Communications LLC RTU, plus some custom options like an external generator feed for emergency power. Nice job Frank, Darren, and the whole team. #water #wastewater

Last week we sent David Wilkinson & Wes Brown to Cornell Pump Company, LLC in Oregon for the Basic Hydraulics course at their Pump School, which included classroom instruction and a factory tour. Wes even earned the high score in the class and was designated the Top Banana, which we swear is a real award, as documented below. Thank you Cornell for another excellent training! #water #wastewater
