We’re proud to supply our liquid oxygen bulk storage tanks to the “Catch4Climate” (CI4C) project, an oxyfuel technology carbon capture project led by four European cement manufacturers Dyckerhoff GmbH Buzzi SpA, Heidelberg Materials AG, Schwenk Zement GmbH und Co KG, and Vicat SA, to demonstrate how CO2 emissions from a cement plant can be efficiently captured. The catch4climate project enters a new operational phase! 🌍 Since 2019, 4 European cement manufacturers, including Vicat, have joined forces around the CI4C project to contribute to a significant reduction in construction-related CO2 emissions. A few weeks ago, the project took another step forward: 6 oxygen tanks were delivered for the Oxyfuel installation. Commissioning of the Oxyfuel furnace is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. The oxygen tanks, supplied by Westfalen AG, have a total storage capacity of around 360 cubic meters of liquid oxygen, which is essential for the operations of the Pure-Oxyfuel plant. The aim of the project: to capture CO2 emissions from a cement plant efficiently and effectively, and to create the conditions for large-scale use of CO2 capture technologies in the cement industry.
