Last week, Chasqui.ai was demoed live for the first time at Toronto Tech Fest alongside 16 other amazing start ups in the community. A special shoutout and thank you to Michael Liu for letting us take part in this amazing event, and stay on the lookout for more demos and feature releases to come.

Networking is like exercising. Most people want to be fit, know how to exercise, and understand the importance of fitness and yet many still struggle to exercise regularly. It’s not for lack of skills, access to opportunities and resources, or dispositions, but because of beliefs and attitudes they hold about what is physically possible, effective, or desirable. Similarly, just understanding the importance of networking or knowing how and where to network may not be enough to motivate people to actually network. It dismisses the point that many people struggle first and foremost with the idea of networking as futile, threatening, or morally questionable. These ideas can stem from beliefs about social intelligence, relations, and capital that can negatively effect people’s attitudes toward growing, maintaining, and leveraging their networks. Understanding these anxieties, and figuring out what’s holding you back can help you understand and get started. As for networking, much like exercising, I recommend keeping it simple to start, and working your way towards the more difficult skills once you have experience.
