At our Q4 2024 Townhall yesterday, we provided our investors and banking partners an update on our performance, views on the investment market and outlook for 2025. A key theme that was discussed was focusing on what we can control in this era of uncertainty. At KingSett, that means property operations, executing our leasing plan, serving our customers and fortifying our balance sheet to be positioned to seize opportunities that arise, as there are opportunities in all parts of the cycle. As Canadians, that means coalescing around a prosperity agenda and unlocking our abundant capital, human and natural resources, as this is the time to build our economy, to build Canada. Thank you to all who joined us in person and virtually. We are grateful for your continued engagement and support.

On behalf of our KingSett Affordable Housing Fund, we are pleased to see significant progress at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard with Diverso Energy commencing drilling for the redevelopment’s geothermal energy supply. We appreciate the efforts of all our partners in reaching this milestone! Greenwin Corp. 50 Wilson Heights Blvd. - Transforming Commuter Lot into Eco-Friendly Housing Geothermal drilling has officially begun at 50 Wilson Heights Blvd. — converting a city-owned surface parking lot into a mixed-use, transit-oriented community. Developed by Greenwin Corp., KingSett Capital and Tridel, in partnership with the City of Toronto and CreateTO, this project will deliver 1,484 new homes, including 520 affordable rental units, a park, child care centre, community space and improvements to the public realm – all next to Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)’s Wilson Subway Station. Aligned with the City of Toronto’s TransformTO climate action goals, 50 Wilson Heights Blvd. meets the Toronto Green Standard through its geothermal-powered design. Diverso Energy's system will serve the heating and cooling needs of the first buildings in the development, reducing their carbon footprint while also lowering energy consumption, water usage, and long-term maintenance costs. Watch now as our crew guides a fleet of truck- and track-mounted rigs through the snow, drilling boreholes for the geothermal system that will power the future community. “In my 25 years of investing in real estate, there have basically been two times where you can focus on what I call spread investing. We find ourselves in a market where you can generate opportunity fund returns by taking core and core plus risk. There is no better time to invest.” Listen as our CEO, Rob Kumer, shares his optimism for opportunities in the real estate market, the upcoming election, and Canada’s potential in the year ahead on the latest episode of the Commercial Real Estate Library podcast.

“Do we dare to dream? As Canadians, are we collectively prepared to take on big challenges?” Jon Love C.M., Executive Chair and Founder, recently participated in a panel for Chatter That Matters with Tony Chapman. Listen to the episode to hear Jon discuss the importance of a prosperity agenda and reclaiming the Canadian dream, alongside Arlene Dickinson and Dany Assaf.

It's time to reclaim the Canadian Dream. In this special episode of Chatter That Matters, I bring together three of Canada's brightest: Arlene Dickinson, Jon Love C.M., and Dany Assaf. Recorded live at Excellence Canada's 40th anniversary, weeks before Justin Trudeau's resignation, Donald Trump's inauguration, and upcoming free trade negotiations, this nonpartisan conversation dives deep into the urgent need for Canada to pursue a prosperity agenda that makes us economically strong while maintaining our social conscious. I kick off the episode by reminiscing about Canada's Centennial year and our country's prowess, then contrasting it with today's societal and economic struggles. Personal Journeys: Arlene Dickinson shares an emotional and empowering story of overcoming adversity to build a successful entrepreneurial career. "I held on to this idea that I could help create a better future for this country," says Arlene Dickinson. The episode explores whether today's young Canadians still believe that hard work guarantees success and discusses the role of social media in shaping perceptions. Political and Economic Landscape: Jon Love and Dany Assaf dissect Canada's economic policies and discuss the need for a 'prosperity agenda.' "Do we, as a collective, think that growing the pie is important?" asks Jon Love. “Nothing starts without believing in something because it softens all the edges. The promise that if you do the right things, it’s most probable you’ll be successful and live the Canadian dream—that’s the belief we need to reclaim. I hope everyone in Canada will listen to their ideas and unite to create an economically strong country with an equally strong social conscience.
