Total Recall from Microsoft sounded like a total Privacy Nightmare. Awesome concept and super powerful use of #GenerativeAI, but just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. Glad to see they are at least switching it off by default. That's why we prefer to #ChatPrivately https://lnkd.in/eQfUEbHw.

Is Your Chatbot Becoming a Little Too Chatty? ChatGPT and the Future of AI Privacy Remember when chatbots were clunky robots that barely understood basic questions? Those days are long gone. Now we're living in the age of ChatGPT – where AI models write poetry, ace exams, and even mimic your best friend's texting style. It's exhilarating… and maybe a little terrifying. A recent Wired article about OpenAI's rumored upcoming GPT-4 model has sent a ripple of concern through the AI community. This next-gen language model could reportedly boast "memory" and "emotional range," meaning it remembers past interactions and tailors its responses to your specific personality. A Personalized Touch or a Privacy Nightmare? Imagine a chatbot that remembers your birthday, knows your favorite movie, and even mimics the comforting tone your grandma uses when you're feeling down. Sounds pretty amazing, right? A digital companion that truly gets you. But here's the catch: this level of personalization requires data – lots of it. Every conversation, every prompt you feed into ChatGPT could be shaping its understanding of who you are. And that raises some serious privacy questions. The Slippery Slope of Emotional Manipulation What happens when AI knows us better than we know ourselves? Could a future version of ChatGPT leverage its vast knowledge to subtly influence our emotions and decisions? Imagine: Hyper-targeted advertising: Playing on your insecurities and desires to sell you products you don't need. Filter bubbles on steroids: Feeding you information that confirms your existing biases and isolates you in echo chambers. Emotional manipulation: Crafting responses that exploit your vulnerabilities to make you more dependent on the AI. The ChatGPT Privacy Conundrum: Where Do We Draw the Line? The future of AI is brimming with possibilities, but we can't ignore the potential pitfalls. As we marvel at ChatGPT's capabilities, it's crucial to ask ourselves: How much personal information are we willing to share for the sake of convenience and personalization? Let us know your thoughts! How do you feel about the privacy implications of increasingly personalized AI? "I've used ChatGPT since its release and have tested Claude regularly in the months since its beta. To compare these two AI juggernauts, I ran over a dozen tests to gauge their performance on different tasks." - Ryan Kane via Zapier explains; https://zurl.co/h9kY

OpenAI was formed to be the gold standard of AI safety, but apparently some on the inside feel they have gone a bit far, either that or there are just some hard feelings left over forcing Sam Altman out before inviting him back in 🤷♂️ https://lnkd.in/eYYcEQAW

Check out a side by side of OpenAI's ChatGPT-4o their latests model release this week. Looks like only a few months after the release of Anthropic's Claude3 its got some catching up to do with GPT-4o. You can see Claude is slower to respond and in my testing it seems pretty particular about what questions its likes to answer.
