About us
Created in 1971 by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the Chester County Intermediate Unit is a regional educational service agency that exists to provide quality, cost-effective services to the community and its residents. The Chester County Intermediate Unit administers instructional, enrichment and administrative programs and services to Chester County’s 12 public school districts, and to over 45 private and parochial schools in the county. These programs include instructional, remedial and enrichment services for regular and special education students and career and technical education programs for secondary and post-secondary students. The CCIU provides direct instruction to over 5,000 students a year and support services to an additional 30,000 students a year. In addition, the IU supports teachers, school administrators, school directors and school districts through a multitude of services, including, but not limited to: business and administrative services, communications services, technology services and human resources. The diversity of CCIU programs enables IU staff to interact with school district personnel at all levels and to maintain a cohesive educational network throughout Chester County.

Experience what sets #TeamCCIU apart from the rest! With open roles in special education to behavioral and mental health services, explore the opportunity to work at one of Philadelphia's Top Workplaces 2024, awarded by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Listen to what Adrienne Dever, a TaC Specialist has to say about working at the CCIU, "Working at the IU has afforded me the opportunity to do something very near and dear to my heart. I am able bring the Teen Mental Health Program to our 10th graders throughout the county. This program teaches teens the signs and symptoms of a mental health challenge. It teaches them the five step action plan that they can use when a friend is in need. It also provides our students, in Chester County, local resources that are available." #TogetherWeGrowCCIU www.cciu.org/job-openings

Over 900 attendees gathered at United Sports last night for the 42nd annual Chester County College Fair, organized by the Chester County Intermediate Unit and sponsored by CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services. From traditional 2- and 4-year schools to opportunities in the armed forces and supports for special education, the fair offered many postsecondary pathways for local high school students. Special thanks to the 130+ participating institutions for making this year’s fair a resounding success! #CCIU #CCIUSpecialEvents #TogetherWeGrow

At the CCIU, our Maintenance Team 🛠️ always strives to maintain our facilities by keeping our building operations running efficiently for staff and students. Milwaukee Tool representatives visited the Boot Road campus for a "Lunch & Learn" to give the CCIU maintenance team an opportunity to hear about new tools and equipment Milwaukee now offers. Staff had the chance to try out some of those new tools after the presentation. #TeamCCIUShares #TogetherWeGrowCCIU
