We are now accepting proposals for ISSUE # 2 of Faculty — our print publication. Faculty is a print publication celebrating and highlighting Chicago's graphic design culture and voices. Content featured includes design writing, projects, designer spotlights, criticism, case studies, and more. Following the success of Issue # 1, the upcoming theme of # 2 will focus on play, experimentation, and curiosity. Often, in our design work, we succumb to the requests of our clients and stakeholders, so for this issue, we encourage you to break every rule imaginable, take risks, bring forth a bold attitude, and use Faculty as space to unleash your faculties uninterrupted. Our call for submissions is open until Friday, August 1st, 2024. If your submission is selected, we will contact you through email to collect more information and discuss the next steps. Chicago Graphic Design Club reposted this
This past weekend, the Chicago Graphic Design Club hosted its first ever portfolio critique session. It was an afternoon of community and growth. It was a sold-out event and a great success due to the great cohort of participating reviewers. We look forward to doing more of these in the near future, so stay tuned. I'd also love to give a HUGE thanks to my collaborative partner, Cheryl Bever — for all that she does. And to, David Sieren of One Design Company and Mira Kida. And last but not least, thanks to all the reviewers and reviewees that spent the afternoon with us. I'm incredibly proud of this community that we are building. Much love. cc: Jeffrey Hitchens Hamid Alavi Alexis Gonzalez John Pobojewski Candace Solola Andrea Villasenor Sean Fermoyle Antonio García Carlos Segura Patrick Smith Sajad Amini Renata Graw & MORE...
