Chicago Votes partnered with Dominican University to talk about the Chicago budget and the importance of local elections. Students were able to create a budget that they believe would keep them safe and thriving while also seeing where the city actually spends the budget using the People's Budget Chicago. It led to a deeper conversation around the local school board and how they influence the lives of Chicago students and how schools are funded via property taxes and alleged tax increment financing, or TIFs. #PeoplesBudgetChicago #CUEChicago
