Thanks to the 150 North Siders who attended DPD’s joint open house with the 46th, 47th, and 48th Wards this week to discuss the future of Broadway between Montrose and Devon avenues! Participants identified their priorities for development along the corridor and shared land use insights with planning staff, alders, ward staff, Uptown United and the Edgewater Chamber. Missed the meeting? Review the posters, take a survey and stay up to date on the planning process at Chicago.gov/Broadway.

With its lush plants and handcrafted gifts, @qideasplantshop has been a staple of the Asia on Argyle area for decades. By partnering with HAIBAYO, a cultural organization focused on the Asian community in Uptown, Qideas owner Ellen Duong was able to expand the plant shop’s community impact. Community Development Grant funding supported the renovation of Qideas and transformation of the space next door into a “third space” for HAIBAYO where community members can gather. You can check it out at 1134 W. Argyle St. Wondering what DPD funding could do for you? DPD is currently accepting applications for Community Development Grants up to $250,000. Learn more and apply by Nov. 8 at Chicago.gov/CDG
