What does it take for first-generation Latino students to not just attend college, but thrive? 📚✨ At the kickoff for Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week, we gathered with trailblazers like White House Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs Tom Perez, Tempe Mayor Corey Woods, ASU leaders, and CPLC’s Max Gonzales to reflect on the vital role HSIs play as lifelines for our comunidad. With the Biden-Harris Administration’s $15 billion investment in HSIs, we’re planting seeds for a brighter future—nurturing the dreams of students who are the first in their familias to walk this path. Thank you to all who joined this powerful conversation. This commitment to education not only transforms lives but strengthens our roots, cultivating young leaders to flourish 💫🌱

  • Somos chingonas—and it’s okay to be the unicorn in the room 🦄✨ At our 3rd Latina Leadership Conversation, we were inspired by the incredible stories of perseverance shared by mujeres blazing trails in STEM. Our panelists—Dina de León, Angela Salazar, Jennifer W. Sanchez, and Briiana Velez—shared how they’ve shattered barriers. They spoke about embracing their cultural identity and navigating challenges in male-dominated fields. The conversation became even more powerful when the speakers directly addressed students from Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona and Envision High School. They encouraged these young women to pursue their dreams in STEM, lighting up the room with their words. Thank you Intel for sponsoring this impactful event. Thanks Terry Leyba Ruiz for moderating. And thank you UMOM for providing the delicious food that fueled these motivational conversations! Women’s leadership in STEM is transforming lives. Let’s continue nurturing the minds of our young women as they take their rightful place in these fields. 🌸

  • Bringing homeownership within reach, so our familia can put down roots 🌟 Owning a home is a critical pathway to build wealth. But for many, this milestone feels out of reach, with barriers from high interest rates to low housing stock. So we’re connecting families in our comunidad with resources to help make homeownership a reality. At the Advancing Homeownership Fair, CPLC Home Lending teamed up with WellsFargo.com and Trellis to share valuable insights about the homebuying process. In workshops and one-on-one sessions with bilingual banking professionals, families learned how to own their credit score and explored financing options. Felicidades to our participants, who took an important step towards their homeownership dream! With Hispanic homeownership on the rise, events like this are crucial for the future of nuestra comunidad ❤️

  • Creating a sanctuary for young women in crisis—that’s what we’re all about 🏡💖 Thanks to the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the team from Lowe’s South Phoenix Store rolled up their sleeves for a special volunteer day, refreshing our cottages and outdoor spaces at Florence Crittenton, a cherished part of the CPLC Familia. This wasn’t just a makeover; it was about creating a nurturing environment where these young women can find safety, hope, and opportunity. Their new surroundings will support them as they dream big and build brighter futures. A huge thank you to Lowe's and everyone who made this possible! Together, we’re making a real difference 🌿💪 #LowesHometowns

We gather strength from our ancestors. It’s in the way we live, the way we fight, the way we honor those who came before us. Today, as we celebrate Mexican Independence Day, we remember a moment that changed history forever: the night of September 16, 1810. That night, Father Hidalgo rang the church bell, calling the people to rise. His Grito de Dolores wasn’t just a cry for independence—it was a call for dignity, for justice, for a future that was truly our own. 🔔 From that moment, a movement was born. A movement that didn’t just win freedom from colonial rule but planted the seeds of resistance and resilience that continue to grow today. That fire still burns in our hearts, guiding us as we fight for justice in every form. 🌿❤️ As Chicanos, we inherit this legacy. We carry forward the dreams of our ancestors, building on the foundation they laid. Every step we take is a continuation of that journey. We nurture what was planted. We foster what is growing. And we ensure the seeds of tomorrow will flourish. So today, with pride in our raíces, we raise our voices. We wave this bandera en alto, proclaiming with power in a unified voice: ‘¡Viva México! ¡Viva nuestra lucha!’ 🇲🇽💪🏼 Sacamos fuerzas de nuestros antepasados. Desde la forma en que vivimos, la manera en que luchamos, hasta la forma en que honramos a los que vinieron antes que nosotros.

  • Sincere, Desde La Raíz 💗 From the way we joke with one another, to the reason we work each day, our hearts are with our familia, our amigos, and our comunidad. 👥 What moves us are our loved ones. Nuestros seres queridos. That’s why so many of us left our cultures, our homes, and our people—because we wanted something better for them. Today, we return to our raíces. With gratitude. With joy. And with respect. 🌱🍂 Thanks to our endless sacrifices, we are on our way to a more equitable future for all. And we’ll get there by working together, genuinely interested and invested in one another’s safety and well-being. We invite you to join us for Nuestro Heritage Month as we celebrate and nurture our treasured raíces. Let’s continue growing strong and sincere—Desde La Raíz. 🌼
