“At Chick-fil-A, Inc., no one tells you to stay in your lane. At some companies there’s a culture of, ‘Do what you’re told. Just do your job.’ But here, I’ve seen the opposite: Engineers are welcome to develop ideas outside of their assigned work. Often, an engineer has an idea, and it has legs, and it gains traction, and it takes on a life of its own. There’s a willingness to accept that all sorts of innovation can come from individual contributors — and it’s embraced.” — Jonathan Melville, Supply Chain Transformation, Tech #Innovation #Tech #LifeatChickfilAInc

“There are work cultures where it’s strictly business, where if there’s something going on personally or with your kids, you leave that at home. But Chick-fil-A, Inc. isn’t like that. If someone has a challenge, we go out of our way to rally around them. It’s not just work. We're invested in people as individuals, and we recognize that people have other roles besides the role that they play at Chick-fil-A.” — Jonathan Melville, Supply Chain Transformation, Tech #WorkingParent #Tech #LifeatChickfilAInc

“I had doubts about whether Chick-fil-A, Inc. internship opportunities could be the right fit for me, but then I was surprised to discover an opportunity on the Treasury team in Financial Services that caught my attention. After applying and interviewing, I was fortunate to be offered the position. I moved from Ohio to Atlanta and joined a cohort of other summer Interns at the Chick-fil-A Corporate Support Center for an experience I will never forget. When I started, I quickly learned that my projects were going to make a meaningful impact. I was ready to work. The 11 weeks were packed full as I built financial analysis dashboards for leadership, mapped gift card sales from 3rd party vendors, and even drafted comprehensive economic analyses for the countries that Chick-fil-A restaurants currently operate in – as well as countries that the company is interested in expanding to. At the end of the semester, I presented all of the projects that I had completed to the entire cohort of Interns and Co-Ops. It was exciting! The resources and care that Chick-fil-A invests in their Interns is tremendously valuable for both their personal growth and professional development. I experienced that growth, but I also made lifelong connections and had lots of fun along the way!” - Jacqueline Grant, Former Chick-fil-A, Inc. “While I'm tempted to attribute my path to Chick-fil-A, Inc. to sheer determination, hard work, and perhaps a sprinkle of good fortune, deep down, I can't shake the feeling that there was something more at play—that a greater force has been guiding each step of my career journey. Looking back, Chick-fil-A has been part of my story all along. My career began 13 years ago in education, just a few blocks from the original Dwarf House restaurant, where I often started my mornings with a chicken biscuit. After 7 years of teaching, I transitioned into Instructional Design, allowing me to apply my classroom experience to training and developing adults. Whether for school events or professional training sessions, Chick-fil-A was always our go-to for catering. Beyond the great food, it was the exceptional hospitality and care with each delivery that always stood out. As our family grew, we decided to move to Sharpsburg, GA, unaware that the Chick-fil-A Corporate Support Center was just around the corner! On move-in day, a neighbor approached us with gloves in hand, offering to spend his weekend helping strangers settle in. Weeks later, he brought us a huge meal from a local Chick-fil-A restaurant to celebrate the birth of my second daughter. Can you guess where he works? If you guessed the Support Center, you're right! Little did I know that I would soon be surrounded by such care and selflessness. Chick-fil-A has consistently influenced my life in both big and small ways, ultimately inspiring me to apply for a position on the Learning & Development team. The individuals I met during the interview process shared a common sentiment: "Chick-fil-A isn't just a job; it's a place that will make you a better person.” After receiving the job, I experienced a full-circle moment by sharing my first meal with my people leader at the same Truett’s Dwarf House just blocks from where my journey began. In the span of just one year being at Chick-fil-A, Inc., my perspective on work and life has shifted. I aspire to be a better person, one who leads with compassion, generosity, and integrity—the very essence of Truett Cathy’s legacy. Chick-fil-A has profoundly impacted me and my family.” - Carissa Pezzella, Learning & Development

“I’m originally from New Jersey, where I began working at a Chick-fil-A restaurant, while in high school. I was fortunate to be selected as a Chick-fil-A True Inspiration™ Scholar before relocating to Ohio to pursue my undergraduate degree. Then, after a couple years in college, a Chick-fil-A, Inc. internship at the Corporate Support Center brought me to Atlanta. My internship choice, however, was quite unexpected at the time. You see, my original plan was to move to New York City for the summer for an internship in the banking industry. However, when I interviewed for Chick-fil-A’s internship on the treasury team in Financial Services, I was blown away by the care that I was shown throughout the process. It was clear to me that they cared about me personally, and they weren’t just interested in how I could benefit their team from a productivity perspective. I knew that I wanted to be somewhere I wouldn’t just be seen as a number on a page. Everyone was so kind and genuine and the team was really interested in supporting each other’s growth. I also wanted to find an internship where my work would really matter. Throughout this past summer at Chick-fil-A, Inc., I felt that my projects were challenging and truly making an impact on the business. I am grateful for the experience, ready to pursue exciting possibilities in my future and inspired to do meaningful work throughout my career journey after I graduate.” - Jacqueline Grant, former Chick-fil-A, Inc. "I’m an accountant who’s bursting with ideas. I have an entrepreneurial spirit, so I always thought that working a nine-to-five job would be constrictive for someone like me. But working at Chick-fil-A, Inc., I have found that the creative thinking that I care so deeply about is woven into the very DNA of this company. While Financial Services requires some heads-down time with spreadsheets and data, I also get the opportunity to work through complex situations. My focus is Non-traditional Restaurant Strategy – including our Food Truck Fleet – and I love the out-of-the-box thinking that it requires. But outside of my everyday job, I have found another incredible way to live out my passion for ideas here at the Chick-fil-A Corporate Support Center – as an Innovation Ambassador! After I started in my accounting role, I soon discovered the Innovation department, and I was all in. I completed training on Chick-fil-A’s innovation process and team building facilitation, and now I am leading innovation training throughout a variety of departments in our corporate offices. Innovation doesn’t always have to mean new product development or transforming ways of working. It can be as simple as bringing a “beginner’s mindset” to a new task or showing genuine curiosity by asking exploratory questions. At the end of the day, I’m glad to be working for a company that values new ideas and encourages curiosity – in both big and small ways." — Kate Thomas, Restaurant Accounting Strategy, Non-Traditional Restaurants #LifeAtChickfilA #FinancialServices #InnovationAmbassador

“Before I came to Chick-fil-A, Inc., I was doing neuroscience research in an academic setting. The really neat thing about the world of academia is that the most exciting findings are developed through collaboration. When I was considering transitioning to working in data science, I was concerned I’d have a hard time finding that same level of collaboration but I found it at Chick-fil-A. In academia, groups of people with complementary skill sets work together to produce scientific work that's better than what any one of them could do in isolation. Often, someone who specializes in creating experiments will team up with one person who specializes in computational work and another person who specializes in theory — and together they can arrive at really impactful results. I knew that if I made a change, I didn’t want to be disconnected from business realities and just get caught up in playing with the newest, coolest data models, rather than working with my colleagues toward a goal. At Chick-fil-A, not only do I have direct business impact, I’m also collaborating deeply with colleagues who are working really creatively on their special piece of the pie. All of us are contributing something special and giving each other a lot of helpful feedback. And ultimately the work we’re doing is better than what any of us could have done in isolation. We’re innovating, and we’re doing it as more than the sum of our parts.” — Nathaniel (Caleb) Wright, Forecasting Team #DataScience #Innovation #LifeatChickfilAInc
