Proud to announce Paul Sewald as our #Dbacks 2024 Roberto Clemente award nominee! Please join us in voting for Paul now through September 29 at https://lnkd.in/geEMwdEv. Paul Sewald exemplifies the spirit of the Roberto Clemente Award through his exceptional performance both on and off the field. Throughout his nine seasons in Major League Baseball, his dedication to making a positive impact remains a priority through his philanthropic initiatives and charitable causes. Since joining the D-backs, Paul and his wife Molly have actively engaged in serving the Arizona community. The Sewalds partnered with Child Crisis Arizona to continue Paul’s Strikeouts 4 Kids initiative, a program aimed to provide children in Arizona with a safe environment, free from abuse and neglect, by fostering strong and successful families. In its inaugural year, the Sewalds raised $73,900 and $97,300 in the following year. In 2024, Paul’s Strikeouts 4 Kids will continue to grow as Paul has personally committed $80,000 to Child Crisis Arizona and is helping raise matching donations from fans who pledge a donation for each of his strikeouts, aiming to gross more than $100,000 for Child Crisis Arizona. This program has been instrumental in providing essential resources to children in need, making a substantial impact on their lives. Each strikeout for Paul is more than a baseball statistic -- it demonstrates his commitment to helping Arizona’s most vulnerable children and families. Beyond financial contributions, Paul and Molly dedicate their time to visiting Child Crisis and running supply drives, which exhibits their unwavering commitment to a positive community impact. We are so grateful to Visit Phoenix for hosting a fantastic team-building event where their staff came together to build 5 bikes for the young adults in our Independent Living program! These bikes are more than just a means of transportation—they provide a way for our young adults to get to work, school, and beyond. Thank you, Visit Phoenix, for empowering our young adults and helping them take the next step toward independence and success! #CommunitySupport #VisitPhoenix #TeamBuilder

Child Crisis Arizona, in partnership with Salt River Project and the 493 Firefighter Foundation are teaming up to prevent childhood drownings through the Fall Pool Fence Safety Program! Now through September 30, 2024, families-in-need in Maricopa County can apply to receive a free pool fence. This initiative is designed to support parents and caregivers who cannot afford pool barriers but have young children at home. Pool fences can be life-saving, especially considering that drowning is the leading cause of death for children aged 1 to 4. In addition to installing pool fences, we offer a free Virtual Water Safety Workshop led by a Safe Kids Maricopa County Program Coordinator. This workshop is available year-round to educate parents and caregivers about keeping their children safe around water. Families living in Maricopa County can apply for a free pool fence if they meet specific eligibility criteria. Applications are available in both English and Spanish. Visit our website to apply and learn more about how you can keep your children safe around water: https://lnkd.in/gPzHW6eR #SafeKidStrongFamilies #WaterSafety #DrowningPrevention
