BIG insights from Eric Bricker, MD on the latest Gallup research. A Gallup survey of 4,000+ women revealed their top health priorities are (in descending order): 1) #Mental health 2) #Sleep 3) #Weight 4) #Nutrition 5) Chronic #Diseases Importantly, women make 80% of family healthcare decisions, making them critical to overall employee health. Thus, Dr. Bricker urges employers to "help with mental health, sleep, weight and nutrition OVER chronic diseases." He emphasizes, "We must make women's priorities OUR priorities." This is exactly what drives our passion at Chorus Sleep (YC W’21) Yes, sleep is a newer concept in the employer world. But it's a MASSIVE pain felt by our employees. And we need to listen to them. So when people ask me: "Do you really want to be another point solution?" This is why I say yes. Because sleep is too important to keep putting as an afterthought. #Women: The Key to Employee #Health. Women make 80% of the healthcare #decisions for a family... they are the 'healthcare CEO' of the household. Therefore, if we are to improve the health of the #family, we must understand and help women in their health. Gallup polled over 4,000 women in April of 2024 about their health priorities and found that the top priorities are (in descending order): 1) #MentalHealth 2) #Sleep 3) #Weight 4) #Nutrition 5) Chronic #Diseases The poll also found that 70% of women report difficulty in making health a #priority. The reasons? 1) Too busy #caring for other family members 2) Not enough #time 3) Not enough #money To help women--and by extension their families--#employers and #clinicians can: 1) Offer to help with mental health, sleep, weight and nutrition over helping with chronic diseases... we must make women's priorities OUR priorities. 2) Provide in person and virtual visits 3) Give access to same day and next day appointments 4) Use women to help convince the men in their lives to seek healthcare.
