As a talented local film director and producer, Nicole brings her expertise and passion for Virginia’s wine scene to life through captivating reels, short promotional videos, and an exclusive mini-documentary. Her direction elevates the Norton Wine Tour, showcasing the rich heritage of Virginia’s native Norton grape and the unique stories behind each winery and vineyard. For her, cinema is the ultimate artistic medium because it combines the complexity of visual art with the depth of sonic delicacy all while exploring the human condition through narrative movement. Nicole is a recent Film undergraduate of Pratt Institute. During her time at Pratt, she studied filmmaking and wine in Italy, completed a minor in Cinema Studies, and produced various shorts. She worked on movies and TV shows like Madame Web, Tár, and Blue Bloods as a Production Assistant. Nicole’s achievements have been recognized by the Capital Emmys, Folger Shakespeare Library, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and Pratt Institute. 🍇 Carbonic Maceration & Norton: All The Pazazz with More Balanced Acidity🍇 Norton grapes are high in Malic Acid (Think Granny Smith Apples). This acid tends to be a pronounced character in Norton wines and challenges winemakers to think outside of the box to find a way to tame it. In the world of winemaking with Norton, carbonic maceration is a game-changer! By creating an oxygen-free environment (anaerobic), it forces an enzymatic reaction to occur where the malic acid is converted into alcohol within the berry itself. The result? Norton Wine Tour 2024 - Chrysalis Vineyards Recap Chrysalis Vineyards was thrilled to participate in the inaugural Virginia Norton Wine Tour, where we proudly showcased the bold, rich flavors of Virginia’s native Norton grape. Our events offered unforgettable experiences that highlighted the depth and versatility of this iconic varietal. Here’s a recap of what we hosted: Norton Wine Dinner (October 18th): Guests savored a thoughtfully curated multi-course dinner, each dish perfectly paired with our finest Norton wines. The evening also featured a limited release of the 2010 Estate Norton, making for a night of elevated food, wine, and unforgettable moments. U-Pick Norton Day (October 19th): Attendees took part in the unique, hands-on experience of harvesting Norton grapes straight from the vine. Afterward, they enjoyed a guided tour of our vineyard and winery, where they gained insight into our winemaking process, followed by tastings of our latest Norton releases.
