Many people assume that, because taste is subjective, the narrative must be too. At Cigar Sense, we believe the art of cigar tasting isn’t about crafting a story based on what you’d like to perceive or what you want others to believe. It’s about being honest and fair to the cigar, to yourself, and to others. True tasting is rooted in awareness: understanding what you enjoy and how to express that in a way that enhances pleasure. Sensing different flavor notes – like pepper, leather, or wood – is something almost anyone can do. But finding the right words to describe them can be tricky (by the way, do you know what “body” really means?).
