We had a great time participating in Lubbock Area United Way's United We Read event! Volunteers were sent to second grade classrooms across Lubbock County to read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and help students make their own dot. In addition to the craft, each student got to take home their very own copy of the book. United We Read aims to highlight the importance of students being grade-level readers by third grade, and it is one of our favorite volunteer events of the year!

Phishing is a common way criminals try to access your personal information by sending you harmful links, emails or attachments. These messages come to you as social media messages, emails, or text messages. They are designed to look reputable or even mimic a trusted person or organization. In the past, a common sign of phishing was poor grammar or misspellings in the message, but now with the help of artificial intelligence, some messages will not have grammar mistakes. Here are a few other things to look out for when you receive an unexpected message. To learn more about phishing and how to protect yourself, visit https://lnkd.in/g4X8TTek

Did you know that keeping your software up to date is a simple way to keep you safe online? Many software updates are created to fix security risks, so putting them off might do more harm than you realize. You can keep your software up to date in three simple steps: 1. Keep an eye out for software update notifications, especially for web browsers and antivirus software. 2. Install the updates as soon as possible. 3. Turn on automatic updates. You can usually do this in the device settings under Software or Security. For more software update tips, visit https://lnkd.in/dT6UtGWY

Simple passwords are not safe when it comes to protecting accounts that contain personal and sensitive information. Passwords using pet names, birthdays, or other easily accessible details can be easily guessed by hackers, leaving your personal information at risk. When you use random and complex passwords, it becomes harder for hackers to guess. While these passwords can be hard to remember, you can use a "password manager" to help you keep track. For more information about strengthening passwords, visit https://lnkd.in/g72P779C
