The City of Ann Arbor is NOW HIRING a SENIOR ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY with a concentration in LAND USE. This Senior Assistant City Attorney is the principal legal contact for the Community Services Area, which includes the City Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, and is the principal liaison for the Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development. The Senior Assistant City Attorney handles legal matters in the areas of land use, planning, zoning, urban development, historic preservation, and related matters and provides legal advice in all aspects of planning and zoning, e.g., ordinance amendments, special exception uses, variances, nonconforming uses, and building code intersection. This role also manages real estate transactions including the lease, purchase and sale of real property and public-private partnerships; and advises development and financing of affordable housing.
