    Join us on your lunch break for a good cause on Friday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sue Haswell Memorial Park. There will be a silent auction, and lunch will be available for purchase from the following food trucks: El Palomo, JLM’s Chicken & Waffle, and Carousel’s Icery. All silent auction proceeds and 10% of food truck sales will be donated to United Way of the Brazos Valley.

    Our Parks and Recreation Department upgraded two parks after City Council approval on April 9. 📍 Bonham Park | 2315 Russell St. The new play unit for ages 5 – 12 includes slides, ladders, and a fall zone with bonded rubber mulch. The new swings are for ages 2 – 12. 📍 Tanglewood Park | 3901 Carter Creek Parkway The new multilevel structure for ages 5 – 12 features slides, a rope tunnel, ladders, and StemPlay gears, with a similar fall zone.     Interested in a career in law enforcement? Our Police Department is hiring officers, and no prior experience or certification is required. Applications are due by Friday, Oct. 25, and the entrance exam is Nov. 1. If you are successful, you will then participate in a physical fitness test.
