Beginning October 16th, Nicor Gas and their contractor NPL will begin upgrades to portions of  the natural gas system in the Crest Hill and Joliet areas to ensure safe and reliable service. This project involves inspecting sewers, installing new natural gas mains and service lines, relocating existing gas meters, and retiring old facilities.    Areas impacted: include Boston Ave, Cleary Ave, Curtis Ave, Norley Ave, N. Williams Ave, Pennsylvania Ave, Theodore St, and Waverly Place.    Landscaping and pavement restoration will be carried out following the work to restore the areas to their original condition.
