This morning, I decided to hop on the lawnmower and take care of mowing the Fire field. Normally, this task is handled by our part-time Fire Field Technicians, but with one of them working long hours due to a turnaround at their full-time job and the other dedicating his time to support the Texas Brotherhood Ride, I felt it was a good opportunity to step in. It’s important to lead by example and ensure that, no matter the challenge, we come together as a team to get the job done. I hope everyone has had a GREAT week and enjoy the weekend!

City of La Porte reposted this
It’s so rewarding to see work come to life. Yes, these are “just” words on the wall, but we’re contining to roll out ways our team can walk the walk of our core values. These values and the way we define them were developed collaborativly with input from all employees. These are OUR values and describe the “how” of our work. When people think of City of La Porte employees, these are the attributes that will come to mind. Thanks to Kayla Baez for her development of that awesome RISE logo. I love it. We’re going to continue to rise to the occasion because every day is our opportunity to make La Porte a little bit better.
