  • The City of Deer Park Public Works Department has collected over 23,000 cubic yards of debris citywide and is nearing completion of the cleanup process. While we are approximately 90% finished, please be patient as we work through the remaining areas. Some debris placed curbside last week may not have been collected due to our systematic north-to-south approach. The remaining 10% continues to be collected. We will start our third and final sweep of the city no later than Monday, utilizing Crowded Gulf to expedite debris removal. This company will also be responsible for clearing out the temporary dumpsite. Thank you for your patience during this time. Our collection crews are working hard to recover Deer Park’s quality of life after Hurricane Beryl.

‼️UPDATE - 7/19/2024 at 1:30 PM‼️ All applications are now up and running. ••• ⚠️ City of Deer Park Addresses CrowdStrike IT Outage Incident ⚠️ The City of Deer Park is actively managing the impact of a recent IT outage incident caused by an update from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. This incident, which has affected businesses globally, has unfortunately led to disruptions in our city’s utility and court payment systems and services. CrowdStrike has acknowledged a defect in a content update for Windows hosts, which triggered the outage. CEO George Kurtz has confirmed that the issue has been isolated and a fix has been deployed. Importantly, Mac and Linux hosts remain unaffected by this incident. “We want to emphasize that this is not a cybersecurity incident or a cyberattack,” said James Lewis, Director of Information Technology for the city. “The disruption was caused by a defect in a single content update for Windows hosts, and CrowdStrike is actively working to restore services.” The City of Deer Park reassures residents that our cybersecurity measures remain robust, and we are closely monitoring the situation to minimize further impact.

Citizen Advisory — Trash Collection and Debris Information: The post-storm debris cleanup is continuing around town. Public Works crews picked up Saturday but took a day of rest yesterday to also work on their own properties. Today, the City’s debris management company has started assisting with debris cleanup as well. Normal household trash collection is running on its normal schedule. Please assist us by placing storm debris (limbs, fences, etc.) in a pile on the right-of-way in front of your property (not on the street). If it is your regular trash collection day, please place your household trash in a separate location at the curb.
