    Melissa Hardegree, Lawrenceville’s Chief Communications Officer, has been appointed to the prestigious University of Georgia Crisis Communication Think Tank! The CCTT is housed at UGA’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and brings together leading crisis communication scholars and practitioners from around the world. Its mission is to advance crisis communication research, educate future scholars and professionals, and develop protocols for handling complex crises ethically and effectively. Hardegree will serve a three-year term with the CCTT, further enhancing the City of Lawrenceville’s communications capabilities through her involvement in this elite network of crisis communication leaders. Hardegree shared her enthusiasm for this opportunity: “I am incredibly honored to join the Crisis Communication Think Tank, particularly through the Grady College, where my communications journey began. Contributing to thought leadership in crisis communication, a field I’m truly passionate about, is an exciting opportunity. I look forward to learning from esteemed experts and gaining valuable insights that will benefit Lawrenceville and the broader community.     It was a beautiful day for a groundbreaking ceremony! Mayor David Still, Council members Bruce Johnson and Victoria Jones, City Manager Chuck Warbington, Public Works Director Huston Gillis, and Lawrenceville Police Major Walker were in attendance as they broke ground for the community building for Applewood Towers.  Applewood Towers is a multifamily development for low-income senior citizens and physically disabled adults over age 18. The new community building will be located in between the two buildings at 150 & 180 Applewood Drive.
