You may be putting up Halloween decorations, but the holidays are just around the corner! If you’re looking to spread some good cheer for a worthy cause, consider sponsoring the 14th annual Breakfast With Santa.   All proceeds from Breakfast with Santa sponsorships benefit the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department Leisure Buck Scholarship and recreation programs. Stepping into safety with school spirit! The ribbon was cut this morning on the Paradise Road crosswalk in front of Modesto High School. This pedestrian safety project was a collaboration between the City of Modesto and Modesto City Schools and also includes roundabouts, speed bumps, bike lanes and other measures to protect students walking or riding bicycles near campus.

Opening the doors to challenging and rewarding careers in firefighting for young women. The Modesto Fire Department in partnership with Modesto Junior College hosted the first annual, Women's Empowerment Camp. Throughout the day, young women participated in hands-on training activities lead by women and men firefighters from all over the Central Valley. These young women demonstrated strength and determination as they learned about being part of a diverse and robust emergency response force.

Wow, this is an amazing opportunity for Casey and his team to showcase a project they produced for the City of Modesto. This is an amazing story about Camp2Home and the City of Modesto's initiative to provide support to people experiencing homelessness and the work they are doing to improve their quality of life.

Visit the McHenry Musem for the opening of our new exhibition California Votes: Exercise Your Right! The exhibition opens on Sunday, September 29th from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and goes through November 10th. Knowing the history of voting in California is crucial not just for appreciating our past, but for actively shaping our future. It empowers us as informed citizens to advocate for our rights and to ensure that every voice is heard. Let us commit to learning from history, so we can continue to build a more just and equitable democratic system for generations to come.

Today was a good day at work, as a soccer fan, this was a cool PR project to work on.

The Modesto City Council kicked things off ⚽ by unanimously approving a Letter of Intent to explore bringing a USL team to Modesto on Tuesday night. Today, Mayor Sue Zwahlen, City Manager Joe Lopez, and USL Deputy CEO Justin Papadakis spoke about what bringing professional soccer to town could mean for Modesto. Check out the highlights!
