Riding the Dream Kinslee Looney had a vision to improve opportunities for bull riders in Odessa. So, she started working hard to make it happen at just 20 years old! She put together the entire event, got sponsors and bucking stock for the Buckin’ K Bull Bash last year. It was hosted at a friend’s place and still had a great turnout for it being the first one! Now, she’s looking to do it again. “I wanted to put this together for the community and it has been amazing to have people call to see when the next one is and how they can help,” Kinslee said. The bull bash has grown faster than she ever expected. So, she is looking for more sponsors to help her make it a successful event! Kinslee is hoping to host it on November 16th at the Ector County Coliseum with live music, vendors and of course bull riding. This Odessan feels proud to have spearheaded the event from the ground up and is thankful for all her supporters. ✅BrighterFuture #OdessaProud

Culinary Brothers An Odessa brother duo is feeling confident in their talent. So, they opened three food trucks, all in the same location. In May, Jorge Luis Diaz and Antonio Diaz opened Taquería 614 CUU. The three trucks may be in the same place but they all have different types of food. One food truck has tacos, tortas and burgers, the second has grilled meat and the third offers seafood and snacks. Jorge and Antonio want to expand their business further! They hope to start offering catering services. This very passionate, hard-working duo obviously loves what they do! Taquería 614 CUU - Food Trucks 📍9833 W. University Blvd.

Quality Family Time The City of Odessa’s Parks & Recreation Department hosted its Fall Festival Saturday. This free family event was enjoyed by hundreds of Odessans. Recreation Superintendent Lee Bender loves getting to see these events come together. He tells us it’s great to see these smiling faces! “To provide a service to the community. We love to do that, it’s awesome to see the community come out. Provide opportunities for families together and enjoy the city’s parks and enjoy each other.” Take a look at a highlight video of the event! ✅BrighterFuture #OdessaProud

A World of Flavors Doris Amaya's story is one of determination and vision. She recently opened the Multicultural Market in Odessa, a store that stands out by offering groceries from various Hispanic countries. With her motto, “a world of flavors in your bag,” Doris wanted to create a space where people could find products from their home countries or discover something new from a neighboring culture. She realized there were many Latin communities in Odessa but limited options for authentic ingredients from different regions. That’s when she decided to take a leap and open her own business. But as exciting as this new venture is, Doris admits it hasn’t been an easy road. As a single mother, she’s constantly juggling the demands of running the store with raising her son. He’s her driving force—the reason she pushes through the challenges. Multicultural Market 4555 E. University Blvd. Suite E-2 ✅BrighterFuture #OdessaProud

Rolling Success 🛞 David Vega Carrasco started his career at a young age. After working in the tire sales and repair industry, he decided to start his own business. David opened Aztec Tire Service 22 years ago, with his wife being his number one supporter. He tells us his shop was the only one of its kind on the west side of the city for years. He says his commitment to service is what keeps customers coming back. David is an example of hard work and persistence paying off. He truly loves what he does. Congratulations to you!
