Today, Goodman broke ground on Goodman LAX01 Vernon, a 49.5 MW data center located on a 5.6-acre site in the City of Vernon. Once fully fitted, this three-level, 250k+ square foot facility will provide critical IT capacity to local service providers. This project’s groundbreaking is a significant milestone in the City’s strategic shift towards attracting emerging technologies, demonstrating our commitment to adapting to a changing business landscape, all while staying true to our legacy as a hub for business and industry. On Tuesday, March 11th, members of Vernon Police Department and the Rio Hondo Police Academy Class #217 participated in a Pride Run in honor of fallen Vernon Police Officer Richard H. Pennington and his dedication and service to the Vernon community. The Pride Run also commemorated the Rio Hondo Recruits' successful academy journey - they're set to graduate on March 19th. #ThrowbackThursday! The Studebaker Corporation opened a west coast assembly plant in Vernon in 1936, providing steady jobs during a time when employment opportunities were scarce.
