Non-profit Organizations
CPF makes parks vibrant centers of community through sports, arts, community building, and environmental education.
About us
City Parks Foundation (CPF) is the only independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to offer programs in public parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City. At CPF, we are dedicated to invigorating and transforming parks into dynamic, vibrant centers of urban life through arts, environmental education, sports, and community building programs for all New Yorkers. Our ethos is simple: we believe thriving parks mean thriving communities. We produce SummerStage, the largest free, outdoor performing arts festival in NYC, presenting world-class artists from across the globe and our own neighborhoods on our mainstage in Central Park and in local parks in all five boroughs, and our Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and roving PuppetMobile present marionette puppet theater throughout New York City. Partnerships for Parks, a public-private program of City Parks Foundation and NYC Parks, supports and champions a growing network of community leaders who care and advocate for the transformation of our neighborhood parks. We connect youngsters to nature in the urban environment through progressive, experiential teaching. Using parks as classrooms, we provide learning experiences and hands-on activities in urban forests, coastal areas, and gardens. Free golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, and fitness programs bring high-quality instruction and equipment into areas where few organized athletic opportunities exist. We offer leveled training, year-round scholarship coaching, and special pro events.

Last week was our Dinner & Concert at SummerStage! We had an amazing time honoring John McEnroe, Patrick McEnroe, and Nuveen Real Estate's Nadir Settles, and enjoyed fantastic performances from Peter Frampton and Patty Smyth with an all-star band featuring Steve Jordan, Larry Campbell, Clifford Carter, Paul Shaffer, and Neil Jason. We raised $1.3 million in support of our FREE programming in arts, sports, education, and volunteer engagement. Thank you to everyone who came out to this amazing event! We were thrilled to host our friends at Piper Maddox this summer at our Learning Gardens for a team building clean-up in NYC. As #ClimateWeekNYC approaches, learn more about how your organization can get involved in our environmental work with CityParks Learn. Corporate support goes towards our youth environmental education programs, helping over 3,000 kids across the city experience the fun of science. Piper Maddox shared, "It was all in all terrific to help learn about, and to make an impact in our local communities with some hands-on gardening in the sun.” For more info on how to get involved, visit https://lnkd.in/e-2J8fZW!

Our lovely interns through City-As-School, a program that offers non-traditional learning opportunities for school credit, got started in the Abib Newborn Learning Garden the other week by harvesting figs! They will spend their time with us collecting the summer bounty and winterizing the garden for the colder months.
