We had an impactful Breast Cancer Awareness lunch, where our staff gathered to learn, support, and hear stories of strength. We were honored to be joined by Dr. Anil Dhople from Tanner Health System, who shared the remarkable advancements Tanner has made to support cancer patients. We also heard a powerful testimony from one of our own, Marchelle Bowen, who inspired us with her story of resilience, faith, and victory over cancer. A special thank you to Brenda Grissom and Gertrude's House, for providing gifts to our attendees and sharing the invaluable services they offer, from transportation to doctor's appointments to emotional support for cancer patients. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together and raise awareness on this important cause. #LifeHappensHere #CelebrationHappensHere 🎗️

Our team had a great experience at the ICMA Conference! We gained valuable insights and connected with local government professionals internationally. Our City Manager, Marcia Hampton, served as a panelist on two panels. She emphasized the importance of partnering with local colleges to provide staff training opportunities and highlighted the remarkable community impact of our police department. We also celebrated our Deputy City Manager Chelsea Jackson being sworn into the ICMA - International City/County Management Association Executive Board for a three-year term—an incredible achievement! It was a proud moment for Douglasville, and we look forward to applying all we've learned to better serve our community! #LifeHappensHere #ICMA2024
