    Community Services Specialist - Aquatics Salary: $51,251.20 - $80,620.80 Annually Do you have the desire to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant and diverse community? Join a collaborative workforce committed to serving the City of Irvine. We are seeking a Community Services Specialist to assist with our Aquatics programming. The purpose of the Community Services Specialist position is to oversee functions of various City programs including large-scale programming, cross-section communication, contract and vendor management, budgeting, program development, scheduling staff and volunteers, and assuring safe, clean, and well maintained building and recreation areas. The ideal candidate for this position will possess superior customer service skills, sound judgment, decision-making abilities, and demonstrate the capacity to lead a large and detail-focused work team. The work typically is performed under the general direction of a Community Services Program Coordinator or Community Services Supervisor. Aquatics The City of Irvine operates year-round municipal programs in unique aquatics facilities. The William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center provides a "world-class" venue for local, regional, and national competitive events and features two 50-meter pools and a 25-yard instructional pool. The Northwood High School Aquatics Center features one 50-meter pool. Aquatics operation provides a combination of instructional, educational, recreational, and competitive programs offered by the City and a number of local nonprofit aquatics organizations. The City's Learn To Swim program is one of the largest municipal swimming programs in Southern California. Hours: Varying shifts between Sunday through Thursday. The committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Community Services Commission by providing input on the needs of families and children in Irvine and child care-related issues. Applicants must be the parent or guardian of a child younger than 12 years old at the time of the application submittal and be willing to commit to a two-year term of active service from January 2025 through December 2026.
