Mary Kyle Hartson Park in downtown Kyle, TX has been recognized as a Lone Star Legacy Park by the Texas Recreation and Park Society! Draped in majestic live oaks Mary Kyle Hartson park has been around since the original platting of the city in 1880, it was home to Kyle City Hall from 1912 to 2007, and is named after Kyle’s first female Mayor and the daughter of Fergus Kyle. To receive this designation, nominated parks must be a minimum of 50 years old, be associated with historic events and be home to unique natural features. Congratulations to our amazing City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department staff. We greatly appreciate all that you do for our parks and community!
