    The City of Santa Ana seeks a dynamic Principal Employee Relations Analyst supervise and oversee the administration of advanced professional and technical functional areas within the Employee Relations Division, including but not limited to labor relations, employee relations, classification & compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) administration, and employee leaves of absence with City departments and outside agencies.  Candidates must possess at least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in human resources administration, including three (3) years of employee and labor relations experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience, supplemented by a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum qualifications may be met via an equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to perform the essential job functions.     Our thoughts are with the eight Orange County Fire Authority firefighters who were injured in last week’s rollover crash. These firefighters were returning from the Airport fire where they were risking their lives to protect the Orange County community, as so many OCFA firefighters do on a daily basis, including here in Santa Ana. Please join us in praying for a speedy recovery for these firefighters and sharing our gratitude for their service.

    The Santa Ana City Council is pleased to announce the unanimous appointment of long-time Santa Ana resident and tenured local government executive Alvaro Nuñez as the next City Manager of Santa Ana. Mr. Nuñez, who has been serving as the Acting City Manager as of March 25, joined the City of Santa Ana team in 1993. With over 30 years of service to Santa Ana, Mr. Nuñez has held leadership positions in the Planning and Building Agency and the City Manager’s Office. With extensive knowledge of municipal operations, he has helped shape the City through the preparation and implementation of holistic programming and policy, enhancing the quality of life for the Santa Ana community. He has a proven track record of leading interagency teams to effectively address high priority initiatives and achieve complex City Council driven goals.
