This exciting position administers, plans, and coordinates the work plan, activities, and personnel engaged in the functional areas of accounting and utility billing and customer service. Performs complex professional activities planning, organizing, and leading financial reporting, accounts payable (AP), general ledger, revenue, payroll, treasury, fixed assets, debt management, investment, and grant administration. Work involves preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Repot (CAFR), directing the annual financial statement audit, and monitoring all departmental activities for compliance with local, state, and federal standards, policies, and regulations. The position is primarily focused on managing, coaching, and developing other people. The Assistant Director of Financial Services requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to implement policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization’s business strategies.     The City of Tamarac has an exciting opportunity for a Management & Budget Analyst! This position will be supporting the Budget Manager and Sr. Management & Budget Analyst with budgetary functions to include budget cycle, budget preparation and assisting with the coordination of the annual budget process. Performs a variety of moderately complex activities analyzing and interpreting financial data to help inform the city’s decisions. Work involves analyzing of a variety of data including financial statements, budgetary documents, and operational plans and results, preparing budget documents and recommendations, evaluating operational policies, and researching and monitoring legislative changes. Prepares reports and conducts presentations of findings to internal leaders.   Work is performed under limited supervision with latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.
