Juneteenth is a celebration of progress and an affirmation that despite the sad parts of our history, change is possible. Thomasville, Georgia continues to support this community-driven movement. Recently, our City Council presented Ucher Dent and the Juneteenth of Thomasville - Thomas County Foundation Inc. team members with a proclamation declaring June 19 as Juneteenth Day in Thomasville. They encouraged all citizens to pause, reflect, and embrace our shared journey of freedom. We encourage you to attend the Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 22, from 11 am to 6 pm at the Thomasville Exchange Club Fairgrounds and celebrate history.
