Since 1921, the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce has been the “Voice of Business” for the community. Working side by side with the Thomasville Payroll Development Authority, the Chamber’s mission is to create a dynamic community where businesses will be successful. This is achieved through the Chamber’s five pillars: Talent, Leadership, Business Development, Small Business and Advocacy. Membership is diverse, with representation from manufacturing, retail, service and corporate businesses ranging in size from sole proprietors to international industry. They share a common notion that commerce will function at its best when business relationships are forged, and resources are utilized to their fullest potential creating a partnership for prosperity. We are so proud of our very own, Shelley Zorn! 🎉🩷
Meet Shelley Zorn, President and CEO of the Thomasville Payroll Development Authority (Imagine Thomasville) and incoming board chair of Locate South Georgia! Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Finance degree from Georgia State University, Shelley began her career in banking, specializing in commercial lending and marketing. Fifteen years later, economic development knocked on her door. She accepted a position as President of the ASHBURN-TURNER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and Development Authority where she recruited new industries, retail and restaurant establishments as well as directing tourism efforts and downtown development. In 2014, the Thomasville-Thomas County Payroll Development Authority tapped Shelley to fulfill the executive director position and focus on new industry and retail recruitment and existing industry support. With more than 20 years experience in economic development Shelley brings a wealth of practical and tactical solutions to any project. She has served on the board of the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA), Rotary Club President, graduated from the Chamber Institute of Organizational Management and the Georgia Institute of Technology Economic Development Training Course. We look forward to Shelley's leadership!

A Seat at the Table | Saturday, August 24 | 6-9 pm The Thomasville Center for the Arts will host an evening celebrating the art of gathering. Guests will gather at one long table inside the Center’s Main Gallery to enjoy intentional conversation over delicious food and drink provided by Black Fig and Liam’s Restaurant, Lounge & Cheese Shoppe. The Center’s current exhibition, The Many Lives of Andrew Young, will be on exhibit as the backdrop of this community dinner. Seating is limited.
