Mayor D.C. Reeves announced that the city is working towards an agreement with Baptist Health Care to donate the old Moreno hospital campus, with plans to use the 36-acre site for affordable housing. The city is committed to ensuring the neighborhood is respected, and aims to finalize the agreement and determine demolition costs by early 2025. The city will soon seek qualified demolition contractors and expects to receive cost estimates by January.
