Have you watched our webinar on Creating a Climate Resilience District? A #Climateresiliencedistrict (CRD) is a local entity that spans jurisdictional lines and focuses resources on the most urgent aspects of climate change as determined locally. CRDs can raise revenue, plan #climatemitigation or #climateadaptation projects, and implement those projects. They can utilize a variety of local funding sources and accept funding from private, local, state, and federal sources to address local climate change priorities. The on-demand webinar on our website includes practical presentations on financing opportunities and the process for setting up a CRD. https://lnkd.in/g8CAmpA6

Join our next webinar, Climate Disaster Resilience & Recovery, on Oct 31! https://lnkd.in/gRZr-wbe While California communities face the ongoing and growing threat of #wildfire and other climate-related disasters, the funding landscape for long-term planning, infrastructure improvements, and #capacitybuilding for resilience is unpredictable. Given the imperative of continuing to build #resilience to the impacts of climate change in spite of an uncertain funding future, how can local communities make the most of state and federal #funding to prepare for and respond to #extremeweather events? In this webinar, HORNE HORNE Director of Federal and State Programs Geoffrey Ross will discuss the #technicalassistance his agency provides to support local communities in accessing federal funding for #climatedisaster preparedness and recovery. Kirin Kumar, Director for Climate and Disaster Resilience for Northern California Grantmakers, will highlight the ways philanthropy is stepping in to fill in gaps in state and federal funding for climate planning, resilience, and #adaptation. City of Lodi Mayor and The Craig Group Partners, LLC principal Lisa Craig-Hensley and SPUR Hazard Resilience Senior Policy Manager Sarah Atkinson will share case studies from local jurisdictions, and resources available to support climate disaster recovery and resilience at the local level. This webinar series is sponsored by AARP California.
