CEI Collaborative Seed Grants provide teams of University of Washington faculty with up to $100,000 over one year to explore novel, high-risk/high-reward research topics, while seeding new collaborations in research, education, and community engagement that significantly increase the prospects for future extramural support. Travel Diary: Reise von Minister Olaf Lies in Begleitung einer niedersächsischen Wirtschaftsdelegation nach Detroit und Seattle German Unity Day and a new Memorial of Understanding… but on our agenda of October 3rd was so much more: What if solar cells could be printed like newspaper and wrap entire buildings? At the Clean Energy Institute of the University of Washington we learned about how research and developing, private investors, companies, start-ups, government & communities can work together to bring climate tech innovations to the market. Also at Flexport we were discussing about climate change, since transport has a significant impact of all global carbon dioxide emissions from energy. Interesting to get a deeper insight into the carbon footprint of different forms of transport. Sustainabilty was even a topic at our site visit at SAP, where they believe, that no-future orientated business transformation is complete without sustainability. Besides discussing about the company‘s approches to achieve net-zero emessions across its entire value chain by 2030, we talked, of course, about AI, cloud transformation, data ethics and cyber threats.
