Founded in 2019, Climate Adaptive Infrastructure (CAI) is an infrastructure investment firm that specializes in low-carbon real assets. These assets span the energy, water, and urban infrastructure sectors and aim to mitigate both the structural risks and economic pressures associated with climate change. We are excited to share that our Founder and Managing Partner Bill Green has been honored with IJGlobal’s Outstanding Individual Award for 2023. The decision was unanimous amongst the IJGlobal judges. The IJGlobal judges presented Bill the award, with one judge saying “Bill identified the accelerating climate crisis early and decided to leave Macquarie to raise his own climate-focused fund. He was able to virtually raise Circa US$1 billion during the pandemic. Bill was an early mover, and many followed” while adding “Bill seems to have been ahead of the market in renewables and decarbonisation industries.” In presenting the award, IJGlobal recognized Bill’s 30+ year career and his founding of Climate Adaptive Infrastructure (“CAI”): “After a decade as a senior executive at Macquarie, Green was inspired to create a new type of infrastructure investment firm, CAI in 2019. During the creation of CAI, Green developed a unique approach to identifying infrastructure investments and screening for the risks and opportunities resulting from the accelerating climate crisis.
